Laying the cornerstone ceremony for the Portowo housing estate in Poznan
Today, a ceremonial cornerstone laying took place for the Portowo housing estate in the Staroleka district of Poznan. The event was attended by the President of Poznan, Jacek Jaskowiak, representatives of the investor, Vastint Poland, and the general contractor, Mostostal Warszawa. The cornerstone was laid in the foundations of one of the 11 planned buildings, which will house 377 apartments intended for long-term rental. The completion of the construction works for the first phase of the project is scheduled for 2026.
"Thanks to this investment, another post-industrial area in Poznan will be restored to the residents. The currently neglected area will be transformed into a modern and eco-friendly housing estate. It's particularly pleasing that the project has taken into account and utilized the natural assets of the Warta River. As a result, Poznań residents who decide to buy or rent an apartment in this area will not only be able to live comfortably but also enjoy the charms of nearby recreational areas, actively spending time in nature,” says Jacek Jaskowiak, Mayor of Poznań.
"The project we have been working on for a long time is the result of our efforts and commitment to creating a space that not only meets housing needs but also enhances urban aesthetics. Our estate, located by the picturesque Warta River, offers both beautiful views and direct contact with nature. We have paid attention to every detail to ensure that residents can enjoy comfort, safety, and a high standard of living. I am convinced that this investment will become a favorite place to live for many people. It is both a great honor and responsibility for us. We eagerly await the further stages of the project and the first residents who will move into their new homes," declares Roger Andersson, Managing Director of Vastint Poland.
The first phase of Portowo will be built on a 3.5-hectare site and will include 11 multifamily buildings, surrounded by walking and recreational spaces. All 377 apartments will be for long-term rental. The offer will include dwellings of diverse sizes (from 28 m² to 135 m²) and functional layouts, designed in four unique styles by interior architects. The apartments will be fully furnished and equipped with accessories to ensure tenant comfort. Residents will have 356 parking spaces in underground garages, 45 outdoor spaces, and 392 bicycle racks at their disposal, as well as numerous amenities such as shops, cafes, a playground, and bicycle paths.
After the construction is completed, Vastint plans to apply for LEED environmental certifications, confirming compliance with sustainable building criteria, including high energy efficiency of the buildings. The first phase of the estate is to be completed by the end of 2026.
The architectural design of Portowo was developed by the renowned studio APA Wojciechowski Architekci, while the general contractor for the investment is Mostostal Warszawa.
"It is a great honor for us that, together with Vastint Poland and the City, we have been given the opportunity to create a new part of Poznan. Our team approached the project holistically, with great care: from the urban scale to the smallest details. We cannot wait for the first phase of Portowo to be realized. Instead of an abandoned, post-industrial, and neglected area, there will be a place that properly utilizes its potential, where it will be good to live and pleasant to visit," says Szymon Wojciechowski, President of the Board, Partner at APA Wojciechowski Architekci.
"Mostostal Warszawa is carrying out another investment for Vastint Poland and Poznan. This time we can showcase our commitment to the development of the city by creating an impressive residential space by the Warta River. We have a proven team of the best engineers, thanks to whom we efficiently carry out the work, and the construction of the Portowo estate is proceeding according to the planned schedule," says Jacek Szymanek, Member of the Board of Mostostal Warszawa.
