Vastint Poland receives LEED Gold certification for Sopot Marriott Resort & Spa
Sopot Marriott Resort & Spa, inaugurated in May 2012, has been awarded the LEED Gold certification in the Operations and Maintenance category, granted to existing buildings. Renowned as one of Sopot's premier luxury hotels, the property allures numerous guests with its distinctive ambiance and modern ecological practices. This certification stands as the ultimate testament to the facility's exceptional standard of sustainable and efficient operation.
"Marriott Hotel joins the group of sustainable and innovative buildings with LEED certification in our portfolio. The certification process helped us maintain and, in some aspects, improve the operational performance of the building, supporting energy efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and providing comfortable spaces for users. At the same time, we have achieved the environmental goals of our ESG strategy, according to which all Vastint buildings should have environmental certifications, preferably in line with recognized international certification systems," says David Pettersson, Senior Project Manager at Vastint Poland.
Sopot Marriott Resort & Spa is located directly on the seaside beach in Sopot. It offers not only accommodation but also conference and banquet facilities, as well as a charming SPA with 35 cosmetic treatment rooms and a relaxation area with pools, sauna and jacuzzi.
The four-story building, covering an area of over 12,000 m2, is characterized by simple architecture reminiscent of Polish seaside modernism. The use of natural materials perfectly highlights the building's style, with its external elevations entirely made of Siberian larch. The landscape architecture is also noteworthy. Courtyards on both sides of the hotel are covered with sandy dunes overgrown with seaside vegetation. The whole is complemented by water features, a stone stream, and green roofs.
