The first Vastint residential project in Poland is completed

Vastint Poland has completed the construction of the Riverview housing estate in Gdańsk. The project, which was created on the banks of the Motława River at Angielska Grobla Street, is a complex of seven residential and service buildings with 282 units for sale. The characteristic soaring blocks of buildings with the brick facades refer to the city’s historical buildings. The project is distinguished by a high construction standard, as well as carefully delineated landscape architecture. A number of construction and technical design solutions reflect the concept of sustainable construction, which supported the application for the first LEED certificate for a housing project in Poland.

Riverview is located next to Spichrzów Island with views of the island of Ołowianka and the Polish Baltic Philharmonic. It is worth noting that, although located in the centre of Gdańsk, the project is away from popular tourist routes, thus it is a comfortable place to live.

Roger Andersson Managing Director of Vastint Poland says: "A well-designed housing estate is much more than comfortable apartments. It is a friendly place to live and it was according to this principle that we designed Riverview. This is our first housing investment in Poland. With undisguised emotions, we await its adoption by the city's residents and buyers, especially since this is not the end of our investment plans in Gdańsk. The second stage of the housing estate with residential buildings and numerous service and cultural points will be built on the premises of former meat factories. We will revitalize historical buildings and harmoniously blend in with modern architecture. We want a neglected fragment of the city to be restored to its former splendour and dynamics."

The initial completed development phase is a grouping of seven buildings of five or six floors in height. In total, 282 premises are available within the entire housing estate — from cosy studios to impressive penthouses. Some of the flats have been designed reflecting the Scandinavian model that provides a much larger living area in relation to the rest of the apartment. The largest units will have an area exceeding one hundred square meters and a view of the island of Ołowianka, Motława, and facing the historic tenement houses in the vicinity of the historic Gdańsk Crane. All premises are sold in a finished standard that allows almost immediate occupancy.

The architectural design of the investment was created by APA Wojciechowski studio and is an example of excellent cooperation between the architects and the City Monument Conservator.

Szymon Wojciechowski, architect of APA Wojciechowski says: "Riverview has a very special location in Gdańsk and reflects two faces of the city: the first — Protestant in spirit, the other — eclectic, baroque. As a consequence, from the port side, the design is raw, brick, calm, referring to Flemish mannerism. The other side is a series of tenements remaining in dialogue with the bourgeois architecture present in the area. In the middle there is a courtyard — a full of greenery, semi-private space for residents, open towards the Stępka canal. Also, from the canal side there are service points, cafes, and a promenade, creating an extension of the walking route of Gdańsk, stretching from Żuraw through the marina to the Podewils hotel. The shape of the space uses its full potential. It refers to the facing development of port quays but is open to life flowing through it and gives contact with the water."

The developer of the project is Vastint Poland, which until now has been known in Poland primarily for the development of commercial real estate, including office complexes operating under the Business Garden brand and hotel investments, such as the Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Gdynia and the Marriott Resort & Spa in Sopot. The general contractor for Riverview was CFE Polska, which belongs to the Belgian CFE Group.
